Doodlebug Ink
About the Artist
Megan Dooley is an artist, born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She studied art extensively in school and continues to do art professionally with Doodlebug Ink and commission pieces.
"I love children and their exuberant energy. There
is something about seeing
that look of wonder and
excitement after painting
their faces that reminds me of what it was like to be a kid. It is really quite inspiring."
When Megan was 3 years old, her mother bought the Klutz® Face Painting book. She wanted her face painted every day, and her mother happily obliged. The transformative power of having her face painted sparked a life-long interest in body art.
Throughout her teen years, she became interested in mehndi, decorating herself and her friends often and experimenting with different henna recipes.
Megan created Doodlebug Ink in 2013 after receiving the gift of a full set of Wolfe Brothers face paints. Providing services at fairs, birthday parties, local schools, and doing makeup for theatrical productions, Megan made a name for herself as a professional face painter in her home town.
Excited to stretch her wings in the Steel City, Megan moved to Pittsburgh in the spring of 2018. Here she has set up shop to make her mark on this brilliantly colorful community. Check out her other artwork on Instagram!
